Manychat is a chatbot building platform designed to create interactive chatbots in Instagram Direct Messages, Facebook Messenger, and SMS. It provides a visual drag-and-drop interface that enables users to design and customize their chatbots without needing to write any code. The platform also offers a range of attractive features. Examples include pre-built templates, audience segmentation, broadcasting, and analytics.

For me, the process of installing Manychat started by visiting the Manychat website and clicking on the “Get Started Free” button. From there, I was asked to choose one of the 4 channels to go with: Instagram, Facebook, Telegram and WhatsApp. Since I wanted to test the chatbot on Facebook Messenger, I clicked on that option and proceeded to log in using my Facebook account, as requested.

Manychat requested access to a bunch of different details about me and the pages I own, such as name, profile picture, e-mail address, managing and accessing pages, and more. I had no choice but to agree and then was able to go further.

During the registration process, Manychat delivers an easy experience that helps users set up their chatbot. The length of time it takes to sign up for Manychat depends on the user’s familiarity with sign up processes like this, I’d say. In general, the installation process can take anywhere from a few to multiple minutes.

Overall, I do feel that Manychat strives to make the installation process as easy as possible for newbies. The software is designed to be user-friendly and intuitive. In my opinion, the company provides extensive support and resources to help users get up and running quickly.

Manychat bot features and Implementation

In general, I find Manychat to have a clean and intuitive user interface. The platform has an eye-friendly visual design that makes it easy to navigate and use. I was able to effortlessly find what I needed in the app and start building my chatbot automations without much difficulty.

I like the fact that Manychat offers a wide range of features and options for creating chatbots and automations.

I specifically appreciate the following features: keywords set up, growth tools and the drag-and-drop editor. There are also many pre-built templates and automation sequences available that I found helpful with getting started quickly. My favorite examples include use cases like “increase engagement”, “capture phone numbers” and “inform about products”.

I have a feeling you may find the platform confusing initially, especially if you are not familiar with chatbot technology. However, Manychat provides a variety of support and tutorial resources to help users get started. This includes an extensive knowledge base, video tutorials, and a community forum where users can ask questions and receive guidance from others. Overall, I generally consider Manychat to have a user-friendly interface and a comprehensive set of features for building chatbots and automations within the free plan.

Performance and usefulness

To rate the performance and usefulness of the chatbot, I decided to connect it to one of my test Facebook pages. As for setting up the chatbot flows, I found the process relatively straightforward. There are attractive templates available, which I naturally took advantage of. Looking at how the chatbot was performing to various user inputs, I cannot really say any negative words here. Manychat was responding exactly as I set up all the commands. The only thing I could complain about here was the speed of the replies. But, maybe it depends on factors like Internet speed for example. All in all, the chatbot did what it’s meant to do.

The Free plan offers various features that may be just enough for your needs, depending on their size. Some of the functionalities that you get within this option include unlimited chatbot flows, 10 tags, 2 sequences and 3 keywords. The disadvantage of this plan is that it includes Manychat branding, which I personally find inconvenient.

Pro plan

As for the paid plan, it costs $15 per month. This is a relatively small fee looking at what features it offers. Examples include unlimited chatbot flows, unlimited tags and sequences, no Manychat branding, and even one tap contact data collection.

Conclusion

To conclude the review, I really enjoyed trying out the Manychat chatbot software. In my opinion it’s a great tool for small businesses with basic needs when it comes to having chatbots. The chatbot is easy to set up and use, and the pricing couldn’t be more budget-friendly. I would say that any newbie will find themselves liking this chatbot to some extent. While the features may not be too rich (compared to alternative solutions), you shouldn’t get discouraged by this fact.
